I have "Dewey" Skin

I was so excited; yesterday I went into ULTA and ran through the store like a addict trying to find her next fix.  Literally, I bet if they have cameras in there their loss prevention department would be like, who the hell is that and what the eff is she doing?!  I had shadow swatches all up my arms.  I even went in with a list to try and stay focused and on budget, but shit hit the fan when I grabbed a bag.  I walked out of there with my heart racing like like I just concurred climbing Mt. Everest.  It was sad, I know.

I bought the Matte foundation by NYX, the anti shine primer and the anti-shine setting spray.  I was like, "girl, you are about to get your shine under control!"  I like to have my personality shine bright like a diamond, but not my skin, if ya know what I mean!

Today I put everything on, I was pumped! here I am sitting at my desk 3:27pm and my face look like I just put oil all over it.  I am not kidding you! I noticed right after I put on this foundation that I did not look matte. I knew it would be down hill from there.

I think I am beyond trying to pass as the "dewy" look.  I seriously look like I just rubbed oil on my face.

I am in no way knocking on the NYX products. I LOVE that line.  I had a full on 20 min conversation with a random shopper in Wegmans raving about everything, but their anti shine line is just not cutting it for me!

So far, my fav combination of products for my skin are Maybelline matte mouse foundation with Porefessional as a primer and NO setting spray, or Becca Complexion Cream with professional primer applied with a beauty blender.

I am on the hunt for the perfect blend of products!!! My next foundation to try is going to be the Givenchy

Fluid Foundation Airy-Light Mat Radiance.

I will keep you posted! Stay beautiful, beauty queens!

XOXO

Be The Beauty On A Budget: BH Cosmetics

I love all make up, drug store and high end! Of course I feel super fancy when I say I have a Dior lipstick or I wear Dolce and Gabbana Foundation, but the reality is, I'm balling on a budget and I can't have too many "High End" products....but then how do I get my make up fix?!

There are sooo many great products out there that you don't have to spend an arm and a leg on! First off, I am a big drug store make up fan and you can really hit the jackpot on sales and coupons! The other day I stopped a lady in Wegmans who was looking at the NYX section (it's new to Wegmans) and I just gushed on how amazing it was and affordable.  I went on and on and on.  My boyfriend was like, "um you said we were just coming in for beer and I find you in the make up isle making a friend" What can I say, it's a gift and a curse!

When it comes to eye shadows I have never been one to wear neutrals too much.  For the longest time I wore the color "Fishnet" but urban decay every day! But a lot of times I don't have the money to spend on $50 pallets or $20 single shadows.

Enter BH Cosmetics.  BH cosmetics is a brand that sells great products with great pigment for a ridiculously cheap price.  Since I don't wear many neutrals I never owned a erown eye shadow until about a year ago.  I wanted to go out and buy so many brown shadows from MAC, Urban Decay and Bobbi Brown, but I would  have went broke.  I went to BHcosmetics.com  and went crazy and spent a quarter of what I would have spent in Sephora and got A TON OF SHADOWS!

BH has an amazing 28 Shadow Neutral Eye Palette.  It has every color that you would like and it is mostly matte shadows.  It is super hard to find matte shadow palette, especially with this many colors.  It is only $18.95 and you get 28 full sized shadows!

They also came out with BRAND NEW pallet called Eyes On The 70's.  It's a great mix of bright colors for summer with some smokey colors to help turn your day time looks into night time looks.  This palette is only $9.95!

They are also having a killer brush sale for 70% off brushes! I strongly recommend their 10 pc. Eco Brush Set for only $10.95.

Go visit their page and take a look at what they have and if you buy anything let me know what you think about their products!

Be The Beauty On a Budget Tip

Hey Beauty Queens!

I have been MIA for the past week! I have been trying a lot of different products and I am trying to get some things lined up to post about.

But, in the mean time, I scored a Coupon for Ulta, which I never really shop in there every since I worked at Sephora, but it is right up the street for my work so I went over real fast on my lunch break.  Seriously, I don't know why I don't go in there more often.  I love it! It's the best of both worlds.  High end on one side and drug store on the other and they have a killer clearance section(s)!
ULTA

Well, I went in to get a travel bag to store make up and toiletries in for the gym.  I need to work out desperately and I figured if I had a cute bag to put all my toiletries and make up in, that would make me work out in the morning more often...I mean that is TOTALLY logical right?  (I haven't been yet).

Any who, I digress! The reason for this post is because Ulta is having a HUGE SALE on Maybelline, Revlon, Jane and Physicians Formula Make up! Everything is 40% off!!!!!! I literally stopped dead in my tracks.  Any time I see a sale on make up I buy something...It's the best time to try stuff that you would never use just to see how it works, or buy that product that you don't really need, but have been wanting to test it out!

I got a few items, one of which is the Maybelline Dream Matte Mouse foundation....review to come soon....lets just say... I am kinnnddaaaaa love it!!

Hurry and go to Ulta! You can shop online too and don't forget to use the $3.50 coupon that is available too!

Foundation I Can't Get Enough Of

I have very oily skin.  It's gross.  I want to be matte.  I am jealous of girls with dry skin.

I would go into work at Sephora and people would come up to me and be like, "Oh, I want to get the dewey look like you have!"  Oh, Really?! Well this is pure oil  oozing from my pores and I want to be matte!

I have used several different foundations to try and keep my skin matte. Everything from drug store to high end.  I have used mattifiers and everything else under the sun!  I have learned to embrace my oils, but that doesn't mean that I still don't look for a foundation or setting powder that will help me stay matte.

I used to use Matte Velvet my Make Up Forever and I was very happy with the product.  I didn't find a perfect match color wise, but I do really like it and the price is pretty on point.

Recently, Becca, came out with a foundation called Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme.  I took a sample to test out and I am really really really pleased with this foundation! It took me a few tried to find the perfect color, but there are 20 shades so I knew I would find a color I was happy with eventually.  Becca also has a matte foundation, but that didn't work for me.  It would pill up on my face and I would get all these little dots everywhere.  I wore it a few times and just gave up on it, so I was kind of hesitant to try this their UCCC, but when I saw how good it went on my clients, I knew I had to try it.

Ultimate Coverage Comlextion Cream foundation is for all skin types.  It is super pigmented so it gives your a full coverage look with out the cakeyness or dryness that some full coverage foundations do.  It also has over 20% water, so your skill will stay nice and hydrated when you wear this product.  If you feel like you get red, or have dark spots on your face, UCCC helps with hyper pigmentation so not only will it cover these spots, but they will fade form it over time!!!   I am happy to say that this foundation keeps me matte for longer then any foundation made specifically for oily skin.  It makes my skin look flawless.  Sometimes I notice when foundations sit in my pores on my nose and it bothers the Hell out of me! This has yet to do that.

I think the best way to apply this foundation, for me, is with a damp beauty blender.  I used my round kabuki brush to buff it into my skin, but it didn't sit right ton my face.  Also the primer that works best with it, for me,  is the Benefit Porefessional.  Next time you get a chance go to Sephora and pick up a sample and tell me what you think!
