On New Years Eve I was honored to do make up for a fabulous bridal party and be a part of the brides special day! I think a New Years Eve wedding is a great idea! When else can you get all of your closes friends and family in the same room and celebrate the new year and a huge mile stone in your life?!
When I got there I was greeted by the bride and Lyndard Skinnard playing in the background. I instantly knew this was going to be a fun bridal party to work with! When I do bridal make up I always use Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics air brush foundation (OCC). I love this foundation so much!
This foundation is a water based formula that does not smudge or run. Its prefect for humid weather or if you miss a tear from streaming down your face when he says I do. The lasting power is amazing and the application process is simple and flawless.
OCC has a starter kit for their airbrush products. It comes with foundations, yellow undertones and pink undertones, blushes, highlighters and corrector colors. It also comes with a compressor and battery pack to use cordless or to plug in a wall. The pouch to put the compressor in for great for portability, but I never really use it.
The one complaint that I do have about this kit is the compressor and gun. It works very well, but it take a few times to get it going. I always have a hard time adjusting the pressure gauge. Most airbrush kits have just a high, medium and low switch or button, this one you have to manual adjust. Once you get the right pressure, everything is great, but sometimes it takes a few tires. This kit was bought a few years ago and I recently went on the OCC site and they don't even sell the compressors anymore. They direct you to a site and product that they recommend, which looks great and looks very simple to use.
The foundation goes on very evenly and smooth. Every client that I have used this on is very happy with the application. I did find that the foundation does oxidize a bit, so it will get darker the longer it sits on your face. It's not horrible to where ti turns to a different shade, but it's something to keep in mind when you are applying the color.
I love love love the blush colors and highlighters that come with this kit. They are perfect for every look you are trying to achieve. One of my favorite ones is called "Peach" its the perfect mix between pink and orange...its like a coral color but it won't leave you looking like an oopa loompa!
If you are looking to try airbrush foundation, I would definitely give OCC starter kit a go. If you have compressor you would like to use other then the one the recommend, just make sure it is compatible with water based foundations!
Also, check out their lip tars...ah.maz.ing! Also, their line of products is 100% vegan and cruelty free!
