After my blush dilemma I deiced its time to revamp my whole make up and skincare regime. I started with updating my foundation. I am also on a tight budget right now becauseIi have to furnish a condo, so I did some research on the best drug store products.
I found out that there are a few that I need to try and the first I went with was Maybelline FIT. The reason why I went with this is because of the rave reviews I heard about the coverage and the lasting power. I am used to a full coverage foundation, I normally use MAC studio fix, so when I heard FIT had comparable coverage I went straight for it. There are a ton of shades to choose from when looking at what best suits your skin tone, and I also heard this foundation was very moisturizing, which I need.
I went to ULTA and they were have a sale, buy one get one get one 50% off, Holla!, so I bought two. One dark shade and the other a bit lighter. I could mix them to get the perfect shade and use the dark one in the summer when i get some color. The next day I tested it out. I was not as happy with the products as I thought I would be...well I shouldn't say that, but with my skin, the foundation wasn't the best fit for me.
First thing I noticed was, the coverage was no where near the coverage of MAC studio fix. FIT definitely has a buildable coverage, but I still felt like it was too sheer. I also noticed that the colors I picked were very pink. I didn't see a color that had a yellow base that was light enough for me, so that was why I opted for the two I chose. When I got home and matched them to my normal foundation, it was wayyy off. Even though the foundation was very pink, it still Matched me, but I felt like it made me look ashey. It was weird, but I figured I would still give it a go.
I also noticed that this foundation has a very dewy finish! I have very oily skin and in the summer time with the humidity, I am worse. After two days of testing out this foundation in the heat, FIT was just not cutting it on my skin! I looked like an oily monster and you could see right through the foundation and my powders and creams were sliding off of it!
Even though I am not a big fan of the foundation on my skin, I do think that this foundation would be good on someone that has dry skin and that does not need a ton of coverage. It is super cheap, it was only $7.99!! So, long story short, if you have oily skin and want a full coverage foundation, do not buy FIT. The pros this foundation is pricing, color range, it's light weight and great for dry skin.
Let me know if you have used this product and what you think of it!
