Be The Beauty: On A Budget

I went into Walmart the other day to pick up some stuff I needed for my apartment.  I stopped in the make up section and took a little gander around.  I don't only use department store make up, I use a lot of  "drug store" make up.  Just because it is cheaper, doesn't mean it lacks quality!

I stopped at the Hard Candy section, and I'm not sure if you remember, but Hard Candy was a popular brand back in the day.  I even think it was in a few departments stores.  I remember reading about how the owner started the company.  She started with a nail polish line and she was mixing different colors together of her favorite polishes and then she pitched her colors to a few stores and ended up having one of the best nail polish lines out there.  She then expanded her brand and is exclusive to Walmart.  I never have used Hard Candy Make up until recently.

I was looking for something really sparkly for New Years, and I came across the Hard Candy Eye Def liquid eye shadow.  The packaging is really cool, which what initially caught my eye.  Then I saw this awesome pink sparkly color! It's the same color as the dress I am wearing for New Years so I thought I would give it a chance.

I love using a cream or liquid shadow and as a base and then blending it with other colors I have that have different opalescence to it.  It really enhances the colors of shadows when you use then with a wet base.

I immediately tested out the shadow when I got home.  I love the color of it and I love how you can really build with this product with out it getting chalky! This shadow was only $6 and I am really impressed with the quality.  It's a liquid liner constancy, so building is key.  Put a coat on and let it dry then add another coat.  I first used it by itself, then I tried it with two different MAC shadows over it.  One was the Violet pigment, which is a bight purple color with a pink shimmer to it.  The other color I tired was Stylishly Mary, a shadow from MAC's extra Dimension shadows (which by the way, Sephora has the same type of shadows for only $3 right now!) .  Both colors worked great with the Eye Daze underneath it.  It make the shadows ultra glittery
Right-Eye Def with MAC Violet and Stylishly Mary
Left-Eye Def (color:Sprinkles)

I recommend this to anyone that is looking for an inexpensive, fun, shadow that you can wear a few different ways.  Hard Candy had a ton of other cool looking products that I want to test out! I am big in to glitter right now, so I have a feeling their Gold Glitter liner is in my near future!
