For the longest time I have been using Tressemme Curl Care Mouse. It is the only thing that is light enough, but gives me a great hold and DOES NOT make my hair crunchy. The down fall? I get a horrible dry scalp from it. I don't know what else to use, if you have suggestions, feel free to list them in the comments section!
I am writing this because my head was itching so bad one day when I was at my sisters house, I thought I was going to have to pour allergy cream all over it because it was horrendous!
My sister is all in to these essential Doterra oils. She uses them for everything! Her new phrase is "I have an oil for that!" And she comes out of her bathroom with some mixture of things and next thing you know you are cured.
Well for my itchy head she goes, "Wait, Lu, I think I have an oil for that!" She went into her room and mixed together peppermint, and melaleuca and then she diluted the mixture with fractionated coconut oil. I put 3 to 4 drops in my hands and rubbed it all over my head and the itch was gone! The next day rubbed my scalp after I got out of the shower and with in two days my dandruff and scabs (i know gross!) were gone from around my hair line!
I am 100% obsessed with this mixture for a dry itchy scalp. The smell is a bit overwhelming because of the melaleuca(tea tree oil) and the peppermint being so strong, but it actually was soothing and helped me fall asleep at night!
If you are looking for a natural way to help your dry itchy scalp, take a look at her site here. She is a wealthy of knowledge when it comes to this stuff and hopefully I can make up some more home made beauty concoctions with these oils and pass along the information with you guys!
